1. General betting conditions

These rules apply to bets placed through Casinochan where betting services are available to you. By opening an account, accessing a betting product or submitting a bet, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the rules that apply to that activity. You are responsible for checking the market, selection, odds, stake and other details before confirming a bet.

Casinochan may offer different types of betting products, including sports, racing, esports, live betting and other approved events or markets. The rules for one product may not be identical to the rules for another. The market name, betting slip, event information, promotional terms and any product-specific rules should therefore be considered together.

You must use your own account and provide information that is accurate, complete and current. An account must not be shared with another person, used on another person's behalf or operated for the benefit of an undisclosed third party. You must also comply with age, identity, location and other eligibility requirements that apply to online gambling in Australia.

  • You must be legally permitted to gamble and meet the minimum age requirement that applies to you.
  • You must use payment and account details that belong to you or that you are authorised to use.
  • You must not place bets while affected by alcohol, drugs or any other circumstance that could impair your judgement.
  • You must not use the service for unlawful activity, fraud, money laundering, collusion or any other prohibited purpose.
  • You must follow the Casinochan Terms and Conditions, privacy information and responsible gambling requirements.

Casinochan may apply account controls, verification checks, transaction reviews or other safeguards where required by law, policy or risk management procedures. A bet or transaction may be delayed while a review is completed. These measures are designed to protect players, the service and the integrity of betting activities.

2. Placing and accepting bets

A bet is generally submitted by selecting a market and outcome, entering a stake where required, reviewing the displayed details and confirming the bet. A bet is not accepted merely because selections have been added to a betting slip. It is accepted only when the system confirms that the bet has been recorded. The account history or other confirmation provided by the service is the best record of an accepted bet.

Before confirming a bet, check the event, selection, market type, odds, stake, potential return and any relevant conditions. Live betting information can change quickly. Odds, prices, lines, handicaps, totals, starting prices and available markets may change before a bet is accepted. The odds or terms shown at the time of acceptance generally apply, subject to correction of an obvious error or the operation of a specific product rule.

A request may be rejected, limited, delayed or cancelled before acceptance. This can happen because of a market suspension, technical issue, insufficient funds, an account restriction, a change in event information, a risk control, a suspected error or another valid operational reason. An attempted bet is not an accepted bet until confirmation is displayed or the bet appears in the account record.

Bet confirmation and account records

You should keep your own record of important betting activity and review your account history regularly. If the details shown in a confirmation differ from what you intended to select, do not assume that the intended bet was placed. Check the recorded bet and any applicable rules. Once a bet has been accepted, it generally cannot be changed by the player unless a particular feature expressly allows a change, cash-out or other modification.

Errors and unusual circumstances

If an obvious pricing, display, settlement or technical error occurs, Casinochan may take reasonable steps to correct the error. This may include voiding an affected bet, correcting a settlement, applying the price or terms that should have been displayed, or taking another action permitted by the applicable rules. A correction will not be used to create an unfair result where the relevant information was clearly available and the bet was properly accepted.

If a technical problem affects the betting service, the system record may be used to determine whether a bet was submitted and accepted. A message, screenshot or incomplete betting slip does not by itself prove that a bet was accepted. Players should avoid repeatedly submitting the same bet when a confirmation is delayed and should check the account history before trying again.

3. Events, markets and settlement

Bets are settled using the official result or source specified for the relevant product or market. The applicable market rules may identify the governing competition, event organiser, sporting body, timing system, results service or other recognised source. If the first result is amended, the settlement treatment will depend on the relevant rules and the timing and reason for the amendment.

The meaning of a market is determined by its wording and the information supplied with it. Common market types include match or event winners, head-to-head outcomes, handicaps, totals, place or position markets, player or participant statistics, correct scores and in-play markets. A selection that appears similar to another selection may still be governed by different conditions, so read the full market description before betting.

  • A winner market may be settled on the participant or outcome that officially wins the relevant event.
  • A handicap or line market is settled after the stated handicap, spread or line is applied to the result.
  • A total or over-and-under market is settled by comparing the stated total with the official result.
  • A proposition market is settled according to the specific statistic, occurrence or condition described in that market.
  • A live market may use the score, time, status or other information available at the moment the bet is accepted.
  • A multi or combination bet is affected by every included selection and by the rules applying to the combined bet type.

Where an event is postponed, abandoned, interrupted, rescheduled or materially changed, the result may depend on the market rules. Some bets may remain open until the event is completed, while others may be voided or settled using a stated alternative method. A change to the venue, format, distance, participants, surface, starting time or competition status may affect settlement where the relevant rules say that the change is material.

If a participant withdraws, does not start, retires, is disqualified or is replaced, the treatment of the bet depends on the market and product rules. Different rules may apply to pre-event bets, live bets, each-way or place-related bets, and markets that are based on a participant's performance. Do not rely on a general rule when a specific market rule is displayed.

Dead heats, ties and cancelled selections

A tie, draw or dead heat is settled according to the rules for the relevant market. In some markets, a dead-heat rule may reduce the relevant return or apply a defined division of the stake. In other markets, a tie may be a separate outcome or may result in a void selection. If a selection in a combination bet is cancelled or voided, the effect on the remaining bet depends on the type of combination and the applicable rules.

Settlement review

Settlement may be reviewed if new official information becomes available, a result is corrected, a technical issue is identified or an obvious error affected the original outcome. A settlement review does not mean that every later result change will alter a bet. The applicable rules determine whether a revised result is relevant and what action may be taken.

4. Bet types, payments and player responsibilities

The return from an accepted bet is calculated using the recorded stake, the accepted odds or price and the rules for the relevant bet type. Displayed potential returns are estimates until the bet is settled. They may not include every adjustment that can apply to a particular market, combination, promotion or correction. Always review the bet details and any conditions before confirming.

Single bets usually involve one selection. Combination bets involve two or more selections and are settled according to the conditions of the selected combination. If one or more selections are void, the remaining selections may continue as a reduced combination, be treated under a specific adjustment or cause the bet to be void, depending on the product rules. Multiple bets can carry greater risk because one unsuccessful selection may affect the whole bet.

Cash-out, early settlement, partial cash-out and similar features may be offered for some bets, but they are not guaranteed to be available. Availability can depend on the market, event status, price movement, liquidity, technical operation and account eligibility. If a cash-out request is accepted, the revised amount shown in the confirmation normally replaces the original potential return. An unsuccessful or unconfirmed request does not change the original bet.

Balances, returns and transactions

Bets can generally be placed only when the required funds are available in the account. A transaction may be subject to verification, processing controls or other requirements. Returns are credited in accordance with the applicable account and payment terms after settlement and any necessary review. Players should ensure that account information is accurate and should promptly report activity they do not recognise.

Casinochan may correct an account balance where a payment, bet, return or settlement has been recorded incorrectly. If an amount is credited in error, the amount may be removed or recovered in accordance with the applicable Terms and Conditions. Players must not knowingly use funds or returns that they understand, or reasonably suspect, were credited incorrectly.

Responsible betting and support

Betting should be treated as entertainment, not as a way to make money or recover losses. Set a budget before you start and do not bet with money needed for essential expenses. Consider using available account controls, including deposit, wagering, time or activity limits where offered. Take regular breaks, avoid chasing losses and stop if betting no longer feels enjoyable or controlled.

  1. Decide in advance how much time and money you can afford to spend.
  2. Never borrow money or sell belongings to fund betting.
  3. Do not increase your stake simply because you have lost previous bets.
  4. Keep betting separate from decisions made under stress, anger or pressure.
  5. Use the responsible gambling tools available through the service.
  6. Seek support from an appropriate gambling help service if betting is affecting your finances, relationships, work or wellbeing.

These Betting Rules are general information and do not replace the Casinochan Terms and Conditions, product-specific rules or any legal requirement that applies to your use of the service. If there is an inconsistency, the relevant governing terms and applicable law will determine the outcome. Rules may be updated from time to time, so review the current version before placing a bet.
